My conceptual art works and collaborationsÑoften ephemeral-- are meant as gestures, phantasms, evocations, traceries. Original solo conceptual works include 25 Targets (a pronunciation of desire for my 25th birthday)(1999); shadow (whisper)Ñan installation about Haitian translation featuring found and disseminated sound on tape recorders (2000); Circulation (an on-line discursive inter /action that became a backdrop for performance) (2001); brown girl, brown bag (a multi-media installation on the experience of being a black woman academic) (2002); and economy writing (the original poems and love letters disseminated in the performance) (2003). Along with No. 1 Gold projects, other conceptual art collaborations include “Slapdash: Seahorse Sound Splash,” with Madhu H. Kaza and Donald Harrison (2003); The Sentence Project with Laura Edith Sutherland (2005) and Art training letters with Madhu H. Kaza (2000-ongoing.)
