Also gratifying was my work teaching in The Friends of the Minneapolis Public Library’s People’s University Program. In three sessions over three weeks in July 2006, I had the honor of teaching African American Women’s poetry to a voracious, smart and sassy group of community members at the Hosmer Public Library. It has been a great gift for me to teach in traditional and non-traditional institutions.
